Canada's Top Managers Favor "In-Sourcing" over Outsourcing by More than a 4 to 1 Margin!
Training Current IT Employees is preferred over the pitfalls of outsourcing work overseas.

A Learning Tree survey of top Canadian IT professionals and managers found that only 15% of their organizations currently outsource work, while an additional 2% expect to outsource in the future.

In the meantime, over 72% of the managers surveyed at Canada's top 1000 business and government organizations expect to maintain or significantly increase training for their IT teams in the next six months. (Only 7% expect a decrease.) On average, they predict their IT training will increase by 37%.

These findings agree with other studies that have found a growing backlash against outsourcing. A recent Deloitte Consulting Survey of senior executives in 25 large corporations found that 70% had "significant negative experiences" with outsourcing projects.

Instead of simplifying operations, these executives found that outsourcing added complexity, reduced quality, decreased control and increased operational costs while promised savings remained elusive. As a result many are bringing operations back in-house.

On the other hand, a vast majority of Canadian managers see training current employees as a way to maintain control, increase quality, boost productivity and generate savings. It's no wonder. In a survey, recent attendees reported that after taking a single Learning Tree course, their productivity increased by over 34%. Now it's your turn to join in.
